The museum is in the former home of the late Isabella Gardner, famous Boston socialite and patron of the arts. This three-floor gallery surrounds a garden courtyard, and is filled with paintings, sculpture, tapestries, furniture, and decorative arts from cultures spanning thirty centuries.
